I was in Astana, Kazakhstan before coming to Beijing. I have seen Kazakhs making the fishing really entertaining, by doing barbecues, drinking, dancing, etc. whole nights at Ishim river banks. I am sure there would be many activities in Beijing as well. There were many people gathered at Gaobadian reservoir yesterday (Saturday and Sunday, both), and there were reports of medium size carps being hit at the reservoir. So why don’t someone initiate a small tournament or activity at Gaobadian. Just a suggestion. I don’t have many contacts in Beijing at the moment. Just floating the idea here. Senior members can guide further.

I have been in Kazakhstan for 3 years. There are many wonderful site for fishing, and Lure is very popular there. щука, окон, судак are very good target fish，few pepole like catching karas and carp. Welcome you to Beijing, in fact, ahthough this game is also popular here, the resourse is very poor, you have to make your effort to karas and carp. By the way, barbecue is forbidden in wild area in Beijing. You can dance and drink as your will.

yes indeed, щука was very popular there. I also tried my luck with spinning gear and most of times it was very successful.
